Damp problems in Yorkshire

"Just to alert anyone considering getting a damp survey done in Yorkshire that I've just saved at least £600 by using Dryfix Preservation. I'd previously called in a firm offering a "free" survey but, after seeing comments on MSE (Money Saving Expert.com), I decided to pay for another survey to get an unbiased opinion.

The conclusion of the "free" survey was that I had rising damp and an injected damp-proof course was needed which would cost nearly £600 .. or £800 if I had all the walls done!

Dryfix came and did a detailed examination which established that the water was not coming up from the soil and that the wall was DRY!

They could easily have reported that the wall needed some expensive treatment but they told me that the only thing I need to do is replace the damaged plaster. What a huge relief that was.

It may seem like a lot of money to pay £60.00 +VAT for a survey but it's better to get a report from someone who isn't trying to sell you something!

I have already told my friends and neighbours and I wish you every success.
